RxNav-in-a-Box

RxNav-in-a-Box provides users with a locally-installable version of RxNav, RxClass, RxMix, and RESTful companion APIs, including RxNorm, Prescribable, RxTerms, RxClass, and drug-drug interactions.

Requirements for running RxNav-in-a-Box:
  • Docker Desktop, or any version that supports Docker Compose. Download Docker here
  • 12 gigabytes of memory to devote to Docker containers
  • 50 gigabytes of disk space

Forthcoming API changes are being made available in a "Technology Preview" version of RxNav-in-a-Box. Changes include:

  • Approximate-match scores are computed differently.
  • "NDFRT" is no longer accepted as a synonym for "MEDRT".
  • Some "comment" fields are no longer returned.
  • Query parameters will no longer be echoed in results (Coming in December 2021).
