Expertise and Research Interests:

Mr. Neve has been responsible for development and maintenance of the Boundary Marking Tool, a program designed for entering and storing expert evaluations of biomedical images. The tool has been used by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to perform a wide range of scientific studies, and the experience gained is helping to evolve it into a more flexible, configurable biomedical image markup tool. He is also currently helping to develop the People Locator website which enables family, friends and neighbors to locate missing people during a disaster. Finally, he is responsible for maintaining engineering lab hardware and software resources to support a diverse range of branch projects.

Honors and Awards:

Mr. Neve has received several staff honors over the years. In 2010 and 2016 he was awarded a Group Award for work on the Lost Person Finder project, in 2014 he was awarded a Special Act or Service Award for substantially improving the NLM People Locator, and in 2009 he was awarded a Group Award for development of a suite of tools that enable research in cervical cancer. In 2008, he was a member of the NLM team recognized by Internet2 for developing geography-independent cancer research tools.
