This talk focuses on the 5-year National Health Informatics Project (NHIP) in Taiwan that promises to establish a health information infrastructure for all 23 million people through HIT projects for the 500 hospitals and 17,000 clinics as well as for personal health management. One of the central pieces of NHIP is the TMT (Taiwan electronic Medical record Template) project that provides a standard template set for all exchangeable EHRs and how this standardized EHR can be delivered to each and every patient.
