Expertise and Research Interests: 

Dr. Xiaoli Zhang joined the Communications Engineering Branch of the Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications at the National Library of Medicine in February 2008. She received an ME in Applied Mathematics and PhD in Electrical Engineering -- both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2007. She earned a BE in Electrical Engineering from Hefei University of Technology, China, in 1993. Her research interests include pattern recognition, text mining, information retrieval, and document analysis and understanding.
