- Derivational morphology rules are similar to inflectional morphology rules. Same structures and methods are used to load and traverse the trie network.
- The derivational terms are all in their uninflected form, so the inflection columns are not needed in the source table.
- A filter is used after the rule is applied that checks to make sure the resulting term IS in the lexicon. This filter is on by default, but is* a configurable setting. This is the opposite of the filter used for the inflectional morphology.
