Multiwords from Verb Complements
Light verb constructions (LVC), such as "give birth", and verb-particle constructions (VPC), such as "tear down", are not multiword terms in the Lexicon. They are recorded in the verb complement types in lexRecords of the associated verbs. On the other hand, they are considered as MWEs (multiword expressions) in some NLP applications (such as WordNet).
In the past, the information on these types of multiwords requires an additional retrieval algorithm using a parser (LexCheck) on the Lexicon. This section describes the development of retrieving multiword terms from the verb complements in the Lexicon.
