• Descriptions:
  • SynonymNorm is used to aggressively map a term to its synonyms by abstract away from:
    • g: Genitive
    • rs: parenthetical plural forms (s), (es), (ies)
    • Ct: spelling variants & inflections
    • o: Punctuation
    • l: cases

    • remove duplicated space
    • trim
    • remove duplicated results

• Notes:
  • An application of using Lexical Tools - LvgApi
  • No category information is considered
  • Similar (not the same) to -f:g:rs:Ct:o:l
  • It is used in UMLS-Core for synonym substitutions

  • This is a one to many function and create noise (because of -f:Ct)
  • Good recall rate with OK precision
