Abstract:

2D barcodes have high potential for use in themedical field. We developed QRefer, a Web-basedapplication, which uses QR codes to transmit medicaldata for a patient referral system. QReferdemonstrates the value of 2D barcode technology forhealth and medical applications, particularly inpatient data security, identity verification, andcontinuing medical care.
